Doncaster Danum Scout Band - Header Image

Doncaster Danum Scout Band (DDSB) was formed in 2004 and is made up of Scouts aged 8 & above from the Doncaster Danum District in South Yorkshire. The band marches in parades, galas and fetes, along with playing static for the public at various venues. Along with this, DDSB marches in competitions in the British Youth Band Association (BYBA). This involves the band playing and marching a pre-written and rehearsed routine, including intricate marching manouvres and a vast range of favourite tunes, from film themes and popular music, to Latin beats and swing classics. DDSB's instrumentation is varied and wide and split across three sections:

PIT PERCUSSION (STATIC):

DDSB is always recruiting new members and welcome novices and experienced musicians alike. Uniforms (parade & show) and instrument are provided on a loan basis. Full music and drill instruction are also given. All leaders are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked and there is always a qualified first aider on site.

Practices are held at the Royal British Legion Club at Edlington every Tuesday from 1845 to 2100, except for once a month when practices are at McCormicks (formerly Case) Tractors on Wheatley Hall Road, Doncaster. The band is purely self-financing and relies on money from grants, engagements and donations.
